AS actually has the best recliner, with 41" pitch. Their onboard service is also the best. I would also take their Premium Class over economy on any other carrier (unless I could score a PE seat on UA, but those are scarce with the significant reduction in Polaris aircraft flying to Hawaii).
Neither AA nor DL flies widebodies (nor lie-flats) from the west coast. DL flies them from SLC, AA from DFW. Both are very very difficult upgrades (in fact, I'd call DL impossible).
UA still has the best frequency, and by quite a bit, particularly from SFO. Lie-flat availability has dropped considerably, and most UA widebodies are now the 772 HD. Onboard service is of course awful.
HA also has very good frequency and many of their flights are operated by the 330 with lie-flats. Haven't flown it, but the seat gets poor reviews and I hate to spend that much money with no credit towards elite status on one of the majors.
