Just came back from a 6 nights stay. Some observations / points for everyone to consider that is not part the wiki
- Was quoted $616/n inclusive of taxes to upgrade from SunriseWV to GWV (Jacuzzi) 1 month before arrival. Thankfully I didn't bite the bullet as reservations mentioned I must upgrade for the full 6 nights and not just 2 nights.
- After advice from Sunshinebob and lhrhappy (thanks!), decided to only request for an upgrade this time via the app a day before arrival. Quoted $460/n (without taxes) but because I was diamond, they gave a 50% discount to only $230/n (without taxes). So in all I only paid $560 (after SC and taxes) vs $1,232 which was fantastic. Definitely try to nego
- No buffet at the lounge nor free massage offered. Menu is now ala carte which for me was bettter
- No ear plugs and water offered as you depart
- Lobster & Champagne was family style and not a buffet due to low occupancy. Do not make our mistake by allowing them to serve everything in the menu as it was too much food and most went to waste. Instead, ask for the menu and select what you want them to bring out. No point having all 4 types of salad displayed on the table and all the cold cuts brought out if you know you're not going to fancy some of them
- Soft toy was not offered, host mentioned it is now only offered to kids who visit the kids club but made an exception and offered us one. Probably cause we weren't agree and asked for the whole lot
- Advise on SunriseVW selection. Rooms 301-306 is angled towards the GWVs so you do not get the uninterrupted views. Pick from 307-312. Picture was from our deck on villa 312. Personally I think it's the best as you only get 1 neighbor to your right and is angled furthest away from the GWV. From the deck, we can barely make out the Mandhoo island
- Do not ever select room 416 on GWV with Jacuzzi. The way it is angled, occupants or even by standing on the bridge leading to 418, they're able to see into the shower and bath tub area. We had to use a towel to cover up when showering.
