I have an award reservation on SQ metal in Economy ticketed in May 2022 for May 2023 flight.
Singapore airlines FAQ clearly says that no additional award miles will be required for changing of dates:
If I make changes to my ticketed redemption booking on or after 5 July 2022, which mileage level will apply?
Changes to flight date on or after 5 July 2022 will not require additional miles.
For example, a member has an Economy Saver redemption ticket issued before 5 July 2022 from Singapore to Bangkok for travel on 1 September 2022.
Member may change his flight date to 15 September 2022 after 5 July 2022 without paying additional miles*, provided award type and itinerary remains unchanged.
Yet, when I try to change dates on this reservation it asks me to pay miles according to the new chart.
After three hours of HUCA I finally managed to reach a redemption agent. After explaining how to change flight and put on hold for 25 min she comes back and tells me that I must pay additional miles.
I pointed out what is written on SQ's site in the FAQ section. I was put on hold for another 20 min and after that was told 'system does not allows me to do change without additional miles'.
I had to hang up. 5 hours of life are wasted completely without a result.
I wish all of you trying to do any changes with your tickets over the phone - 'good day and good luck'.
