Impressive and totally agree! Miles offer the employee much more flexibility than the positive space travel tickets that they have received in the past for winning an award (those expire, have tight capacity controls, and can't be redeemed for friends unless you are travelling together). They can be used for a short haul AS flight or a long haul on another carrier in a premium cabin (or just for a hotel stay). Plus for those employees that don't want to get on another airplane on their day off, they can fly a friend or loved one in to visit them instead!
