$1k is insane for this property - I don't even pay half that for the Andaz and Westin which are much nicer. Also I don't know which room has that view but many face the parking lot not greenery. Anyway here is my review:

Made a last minute rez using a soon-to-expire Amex free night (std room 80k). Rooms were spacious as expected but need of refresh - furniture is tired and carpets are worn. I guess I should have asked for a renovated room like the photos above because mine didn't look anything like that. The robes are a nice touch. Good hot water pressure. Try to get 3rd floor otherwise you will hear every step from your upstairs neighbor. We haven't stayed at ES for a while but I doubt the rooms here would fall in the top 50% though public areas are nice.

The highlights here are the free happy hour and cooked to order breakfast though the latter had a 30min line on Sunday morning. Plenty of outdoor seating for those who prefer not to dine indoors. Pool is small for a hotel of this size but never seemed crowded.

There may be free parking on the street otherwise $20 in the unsecured lot. Dog friendly but $75 pet fee. A wide range of folks stay here we saw everything from large families, to chick trips, young and older couples, etc. At happy hour we ran into another guy who works at my company. Small world.

Overall maybe 3.5 but just doesn't match up to Andaz or Westin, much less Auberge. Convenient to freeway but not walking distance from downtown or anything useful.
