What's a reasonable redemption rate for Choice Points?
I haven't done much traveling in the past few years, but remember that before 2020 it was reasonable to redeem Choice Points at a rate of 1 cent per point, compared to the AAA room rate. I'm now planning a trip for the fall, and most redemption rates are in the 0.5-0.6 cent range. Is this the new norm, or am I looking at properties that have especially low cash rates? Or do I not remember correctly pre-pandemic redemption rates?
If redemption rates are now at this level, it makes the getaway deals far less interesting to me.
