As [MENTION=262802]corporate-wage-slave[/MENTION] mentioned already, in a majority of circumstances, flight only bookings made directly with BA could be cancelled for free within 24 hours of making the booking. They discontinued the online self-service as COVID kicked in and BwC launched. I suspect that once a heavy proportion of e-Vouchers and the remaining proportion of bookings (before June 8th) that are BwC eligible, are all utilised, then they'll likely reinstate the online self-service option including any methods for obtaining any kind of monetary refund.
Glad OP got it sorted relatively pain-free in the end. But yes, the only way of getting this done at present is via the phone or Twitter.
