For my recent (3 weeks ago) issue (flight cancelled, re-booked flight cancelled, had to rent a car to drive to another airport where I finally boarded the third flight), I received the automated response right away and the "real" response in about 3 or 4 days. I would add that the "real" response was quite thorough, which indicated to me that a person had actually read and thought about my issue before replying.
