The meter taxi ranks were back to manual forms yesterday as it was before they put in the machines, although they didn't ask where you intended to have the taxi driver take you. The queue was about 50-deep on both sides.
I've quit the meter taxi ranks at BKK...at current exchange rates, the AOT car cost me about $35 (tolls included). I'd rather pay the extra cash than play the meter taxi game.
