Earning Status (PQP) on non-016 Tickets and Partner Metal

If you fly PE or J cheaply across an ocean, you can get higher elite earnings by flying other airlines on their tickets. Non-016 tickets use distance only to determine earnings, and while they have capped the PQP earnings to stop some excessively high rates like (3-4 PQP/$), the RDM is still (Distance X Fare) + Bonus.

If the ticket in PE/J is in a deeply discounted fare bucket, its very likely that flying NON-UA metal, NON-UA tickets you will earn more. You do lose the benefits of lifetime mileage, and UA silver. (But PE/J typically has better benefits)

Most PE/J tickets will earn 100-150% of distance flown in UA miles. As a silver you get an extra 1.25x on top.
*The bonus is only on RDM, it does not increase PQP/PQF credit.
