Yes, they can see all of the information on the form as it was when it was originally issued when they verify it. They can see the original rate you are eligible for, the expiration date, and essentially all information. The days of trying to edit these forms to slip past the checks have been long gone
I'm eligible for a couple corporate rates plus AAA, they never, ever, check eligibility in the US. But the couple times I used the FF rate I was asked for the form. The rates are really good and it's no wonder they're thoroughly vetted.
Side comment about eligibility checks: outside of the US, I've had to show proof of eligibility for the corporate rates almost every single time (my work badge has my name and the company name and it's always been sufficient).
