Called United so giving an update for the rest here. Spoke with an agent who at first was trying to book me on HNL-SFO-ICN-SIN until I kept insisting that she check SFO-SIN and then she realized United has a direct flight there. In the end she managed to re-book me for HNL-SFO-SIN and also gave me complimentary E+ seating. I didn't realize it but there was a flight with better timing so I managed to use the chat function later to change the flight and keep the E+ seating.
