BKK-MEL you had me at champagne....

I had the pleasure of flying 777 BKK to melbourne last weekend, and happy to report my experience was much better than other experiences being reported or compared to other airlines delivering.

Day flight morning departure.... beverages offered verbally at seat prior to take off, including champagne. So nice to see the full size TG flutes back in action. Very nostalgic from pre covid days. Not many airlines using them i think.

Food order taken at seat prior to departure. no menus, verbal interaction with staff. 4 breakfast choices!! 3 dinner choices! I was in front section last row, got my choice.
Beverage cart prior to breakfast.... champagne front and centre with your orange juice
Linen placemats and napkins with tray service for breakfast. hot bread/pastries offered. as much bubbles coffee or pastries as i wanted. more than 1 pass on offer.
i didnt snack during flight, but ordered drinks.
drink service with nuts prior to dinner.
Evening meal served in 4 courses - the return of the TG salmon starter almost brought tears to the eyes! (again, nostalgic reasons not culinary).

777 was looking worn but it what it is. (I remember when we were so happy with the new lie flat seats ...... ) I think my airfare was 1/2 the cost one way compared to QF or SQ.

So i was very satisfied with my TG experience. I hope TG can work their way thru the post covid recovery, cause we know other airlines are not doing so well.
