If its a place you visit regularly, i would recommend you talk to AmEx chat and ask them to issue the 4x points AND also request them to fix the category. When I first got the Gold card, I had this issue happen but after reporting to AmEx they actually fixed it. I even got a follow up call from their customer service after a few days. I know it takes extra time but you would be doing a "public service" since once they fix it, everyone will benefit.
