I would not go into discussion about that (at first). I would show up at check-in counters at AMS and explain that you are going to KUL but something is wrong with DOH-KUL segment and ask them to look at it/fix it. The agents at AMS will quickly be able to see that DOH-KUL is cancelled and needs to be rebooked.
