sorry, I could have moved enough for a one way redemption if I had realised the difference in cost between BA and QR, I had literally read an article this morning in HFP saying that Avios amounts and taxes had been standardised now between QR and BA and as such didn’t think to check the price until afterwards.

I could cancel the return flight in the hope the seat will be released back into the award inventory again on QR and rebook it at the lower cost but there’s obviously no guarantee it will be released again.

I guess I’m really asking whether anyone has experienced this difference before? Is the Qatar price as quoted correct or would some other fee be applied at the last moment on the payment page?
