Looking for some advice If possible…..Today I redeemed for 2 flights on QR but via BA I wanted to fly LHR-HAN and then return HKT-LHR now BA won’t let you do an open jaw avios booking online so I had to make 2 one way bookings.

First online I booked LHR-DOH-HAN in business for 75,000 avios and £386.56 (Qatar website said 75,000 and £390)

Then when I tried to book the HKT-DOH-LHR leg the website kept throwing errors and I had to call BA to book it and I was very surprised with the tax surcharges on the return leg as it cost 75,000 avios and £485.60 (Qatar appeared to quote 75,000 and £140)

Did I make a big mistake? I’m still in my 24 hour cooling off period, the return taxes seem crazy to me…but I just accepted them at the time on the phone for fear of the award availability disappearing

I’d have preferred to have booked direct with QR but my Avios are pooled in a BA Household account and as such I didn’t personally have enough Avios to transfer in my QR account to make the booking.
