I had this too - I showed an AM gate agent the previous one and she was able to enter it again even though on the AM app it showed my Delta number. So weird. Both flights have not been added after 2 weeks and a few days respectively.

I haven't had any issues recently with AM agents not knowing where to put my DL number. I normally bring a boarding pass to show them how it should look like. They are very helpful with everything. If I have bags they checked them for free because I'm GM. Even when I'm flying Basic economy they change my seat for me. So definitely not a urban myth
