Flight last week 1 July FRA-LHR-DFW, BA connecting to AA. Initial check in with BA, 1 of 2 bags made it to DFW. Filed claim with AA and it shows in their net tracer website, was told in person by AA rep last scan was LHR. However nothing showing, no progress other than my lost baggage claim is “open.” The AA rep says that BA may have better granularity of the last scan location/data as it was their tag and last activity was the BA flight from FRA.

How long is it taking until people get notified their baggage is Located? Completely random? Is it a first in first out scenario where older bags keep getting buried by newer bags so they remain unhandled? Is there any active effort at LHR to send personnel and scan tags and set them aside for handling? With the images online and the stories you’d think that they’d have some staff going around and at least scanning bags….

Forgive me, this forum is the only place to vent since AA says “wait and see” and I can’t get a response back from BA.

(I have now purchased air tags for all our baggage if for curiosity and peace of mind than anything else.)
