I think some of this may be a relative thing. When one flies 50+ segments a year, there's a lot more chance, compared to one flying 4 segments a year, that something will go wrong. And, flying so much, I just plain get tired of it. When I worked for AA, I would start going through withdrawal if I went a month without getting on a flight. I don't know if that would happen to me now or not. I think I might like to find out. Since February of this year, I haven't gone more than 2 weeks without getting on a plane. And that was just last week. I flew DFW-GRR on 11/14,
drove GRR-DFW 11/19-21 and flew DFW=GRR on 11/26. WOW!
Eleven days without setting foot on an airplane.
