EU passport holders can use e-passport gates to enter the UK and there is no stamping involved.
For departing, as you know there is no exit border control from the UK so no stamps leaving either.
Ah that explains my experience last week.... Swiss passport, flew into LGW and left from LGW (from and to GVA). Used the e-gates on arrival but on departure, nada.... I thought I missed it lol. The passport control was done on exit and arrival at GVA.
