Although I've long since dropped down to Bronze from the lofty heights of Gold, I still value being able to select my seats a week in advance...

Standing at only 205 tier points I need another 20 to retain Bronze.

So with my tier year renewal date is approaching, I decided to book (got a good price) a Y (hand luggage only) to MUC followed by J back...enough to see me through...with room to spare...

As per an earlier post, this has blown up with my MUC outbound being cancelled as we taxied out...and so I rebooked...but the outbound and inbound dates straddle my renewal date...

The hand luggage only fare on the outbound won't generate sufficient points to retain Bronze on its own...so under these circumstance am I really destined to sink back down (horrors...!!) to Blue after all these years...??
