2 Twins: Join as K -- what does this mean?
I take along my nephew, niece, etc. on some vacations and see that several European hotels, like the Westin Excelsior in Rome, list rooms as Single, Double, and "2 Twins: join as K" -- what exactly does that mean? Do they pull apart a king size bed that actually has two separate mattresses? Several suites at the Luxury Hotel collection also list that choice. Normally, if I want an upgrade and am traveling with another family member, there aren't suites with anything but single beds [I am told], so I waive the upgrade. It would be helpful to know (from the SPG website) that they do have [upgradable] suites with a second bed. Of course, if the suite is a several thousand dollar a night Presidential Suite (with 6 rooms and 2 beds), I realize that is not available for Platinum upgrades, as described in our Terms & Conditions.
