I've been one of the "lucky" ones. I did a return trip to the US, leaving from T3 and arriving back at T5 and my luggage followed me through there back. Slow delivery at T5, around 11pm, was the only "downside".
I was nervous taking checked luggage, CWS re-assured me and I'm glad I took the risk.
As an aside I liked that the AA apps keeps track of the bags and let you know that they've been loaded/off-loaded... Any reason why BA could not do that either in their app?
