I'm at this hotel now. Honestly it's a great hotel. The service is good and everything is brand new.

The breakfast was fine but honestly food is so good and cheap in Malta that I would recommend eating elsewhere (the point of traveling is not to stay in the hotel the whole time, right? Go explore the island and try the local food, and if you like Italian food, that's top-notch here too). You can get quality espresso for €1.50 at one of many Italian coffee shops in the area (remember that you are about 60 miles from Sicily). And go try pastizzi for €0.40 or €0.50 each -- this is something that you will not get anywhere else in the world. Google maps will help you find whatever you want.

I would take the bad reviews with a grain of salt (or maybe a heap of it). Try it for yourself. People love to invent things to complain about. This is one of the nicer Regencies I've been in; I'd say that it's on par with a GH (and probably should be branded as one; I'm not sure sure why it's a HR, other than the fact that maybe it's a little small -- GHs tend to be larger, with more rooms)
