A colleague who has status with Delta - higher than yours, I think - had his luggage disappear on an Easter trip he made from the US to Europe. His checked luggage finally arrived at his hotel the night before he returned to the US!!!

He finally got a full refund of his receipts from KLM, including new clothing items, the week before last, i.e. approx 2 months later
