Here are a few more room photos to supplement
Canarsie's excellent impressions. I booked a base king, but received an upgrade to a Double View. Normally I don't consider a better view an upgrade, but in this case it was worthwhile, with a full panoramic view of the Mississippi River. The World of Hyatt T&Cs exclude Caption from the Globalist "best room available" benefit, so I appreciated the mild upgrade. There are larger "deluxe" rooms and one-bedroom suites available as well.
The room was small but functional. It was tight even as a solo traveler, but the king room looks like it has more space to move around. If Caption is aiming for the Moxy/Motto space, this size is very competitive, but it's smaller than the average Hyatt Place room, for instance. The pops of color kept things interesting and modern, although the overall design felt to me like that of a child's bedroom. It felt like the designers had put some thought into the details, from the coat hooks to the use of color to the quality of the shower door.
Beautiful view of the Mississippi. The empty lot in the foreground is the future site of a 20-story Grand Hyatt, so this view from the Caption will be blocked in a year or two as the GH goes up.

The chairs were decidedly uncomfortable; I ended up using a bed pillow to provide a little more cushioning than the wood slab.
Note the Memphis iconography on the wallpaper.
No shelf to set toiletries in the shower, but otherwise excellent with both rain and handheld showerheads (although they couldn't be used simultaneously). The hair dryer and shampoo/conditioner (Apotheke, wall-mounted) both felt higher-end than might be expected at the select-service level.
