One thing I have always wondered
What if instead of the last leg of the flight being cancelled, it was in fact the first leg?

Could you start your journey from LHR, dropping the first leg, but asking for a credit of TP & Avios from the original routing?

I have a trip in August where I have a domestic positioning flight to get to the start point the day before, spending time with some old friends.

But if the first leg was cancelled and then drop the outward positioning flight?
