There’s a good chance this was sold as two tickets (London - Miami and Miami - Lima) if that’s cheaper. So if you don’t make the flight to Lima, you’re out of luck because you technically don’t have a connection at Miami, and therefore they are not obligated to rebook on the next flight. If you miss the flight to Lima you’ll have to buy a new ticket.
That’s the disadvantage of buying cheap tickets from low-cost travel agencies. They’ll often sell you two separate tickets if it’s cheaper, and it may be difficult to discover during booking.
