I stayed here in June for the third time and there were a couple of changes in the hotel and area that I thought I’d mention.
With Diamond status, we were upgraded to a room on the Executive Lounge floor at check-in. The size of the room is the same as standard rooms at 336 sqf (31 sqm) not on the Executive Lounge floor. Of my three stays, this room had by far the best view of Nagasaki Bay.

Executive Lounge
Since our stay was on a weekday, the lounge was not very busy with only about 12 guests during the 5:00-7:00 pm cocktail time in a lounge that seats about 40. The food selection consisted of curry rice and
mabo dofu (spicy bean curd with pork). There were also a few fried items as side dishes. Overall, it was filling, so we had no reason to eat in the hotel restaurant. For beverages, we had draft beer (Asahi Super Dry) and a very good sparkling wine. The two Philippe de Rothschild red and white wines were flat and about the same quality as 500-yen wines.

Breakfast
There are now three breakfast options for Diamond members: 1) A buffet breakfast in the Executive Lounge, 2) A buffet breakfast in the 3rd-floor restaurant, and 3) A Japanese breakfast for Diamond members only in the 1st-floor Japanese restaurant. The third option appears to be new as I was not previously offered that option, but it is very attractively done, filling, and well worth a try.

Outside Dining
In a previous review above, I stated that there were no outside restaurants nearby and that you had to go to Amu Plaza on the other side of the station to find them. With the new Shinkansen Station nearing completion, there is now a section of the new station that houses several restaurants in an open-air food court-like setting along with
omiyage shops right across the street from the Hilton Hotel. This is convenient for hotel guests as it gives them many more dining options nearby. On the day of check out, we ate at a small noodle restaurant specializing in
Goto Udon (tasty and slightly thinner
udon from Goto Island in Nagasaki Prefecture).
