We are mid trip and may need to invoke trip interruption due to illness. I have a couple of questions. Here’s our situation: Our outbound flight was charged to a now canceled Chase UA card. It was an award ticket. Our car rental and inbound award ticket taxes were charged to CSP. Hotels on points but cancelation fee of one night at our next stop.
Does the lack of outbound coverage matter at this point? Would our car rental charge to CSP trigger the trip interruption coverage? Would it cover returning car to different destination?
Would we be covered for hotel cancelation fee?
Inbound flight can be changed or canceled. If fare difference, will that be covered even though it is only the return that was charged to CSP? I have learned my lesson to always charge to same card!
