Thanks for the report and good to hear from you Savage25 . That's one good redemption there. Reminds me of Duplex Suites at IC Bali Jimbaran for 5k a night on Pointsbreaks though you got an even better deal (villa?) IIRC. Ahh the good old days.

I think with IC Bali Sanur it's all about expectations. It is not brand spanking new and 2 years of being near empty would not have helped to improve it over Fairmont days as the owner has been holding back on substantial investments for years. Still, having been there during Fairmont days visiting a friend from the nearby Hyatt Regency, I also found it quite passable, for the right price.

Sanur works well for us given, at times, we have to head to certain places in Bali that are are far easier to reach from there (e.g. versus Jimbaran) and it is still easy to get to the airport and all. Definitely beats the heck out of Nusa Dua or up in the hot and dry Uluwatu area and certainly no one will get us over to Kuta or so. YMMV.
