Just booked a flight on Alaska and selected my seats in the back. Remembered I could link my AA account to get some miles so i did. When I checked back, all of a sudden my seat is now in the premium class cabin. I don't have status anymore. I had Platinum throughout before the pandemic but flying dropped off hard. Is this a glitch? I called Alaska and just asked to be upgraded to Premium Class but they said it was already paid for. Didn't want to press questions so I left it for now. Any idea if I'll be asked to pay for it at check-in next month? I assume it's either that or I'm just moved to the back.
Your seat will almost certainly stick unless there is an equipment change or something. No chance you will be asked to pay at check in. Worst case, you get moved and have to pay to move back.
