If a SUV is needed, it is best to make a reservation for an SUV.

Your suggestion of having 2 reservations is a good solution to provide potentially the best possible price if a SUV is available in PC, Gold, or 5star. But, be aware that one of the reservations could potentially be cancelled before your arrival...and be sure to cancel the SUV reservation if you find one in UC...then confirm at the gate that they are opening the mid-size reservation.

Rare’s response to D_Shoo’s requirement of having a SUV was to book midsize for PC access. That response seems like it could leave D_Shoo without a SUV thus my questioning on what happens if PC/5* does not have a SUV.
