Sad to read that also in a two Michelin star restaurant no minimum dress standards are enforced anymore. Possibly in the case of Vitznau to cater to their clientele paying their inflated room rates.

It is a matter of respectr towards the chef, the staff and the other guests to wear appropriate attire. In the case of a T shirt a jacket over it would be fine. Nobody asks for a tuxedo . This said I witnessed shorts and slippers without socks in a three Michelin star restaurant in France last summer -- will not return.
