Impressions from my stay

I just returned from a 5 night stay here. I booked a standard award 5th night free and was upgraded on arrival to a corner suite similar to what bitterproffit described above except mine did have a separate tub in the bathroom. The mini-fridge was excellent for keeping snacks and drinks (there is a convenient grocery/supermarket less than 2 minutes walk). I also loved the view, the only disadvantage was the giant lighted Doubletree sign that hindered the nighttime city view and kept the room very bright all night.

Full breakfast buffet in the restaurant was extensive and very good. They even had Prosecco if you wanted to start the day with a Mimosa. Breakfast in the lounge was very limited, but the staff was very helpful and you could order eggs, pancakes, etc.. For simplicity I ate in the restaurant.

The lounge was OK. Soft drinks were not available except during the evening reception (5:00-7:00). Nice assortment of snacks and candy all day. The evening reception consisted of a couple of warm appetizers (very good) and an assortment of sweets/desserts. Drinks available were red or white wine, Prosecco and a Heineken keg. Soft drinks but no spirits.

Overall, a great stay and I would not hesitate to book here again.

ETA: The Skylounge restaurant on the roof does have a great view but with a premium cost. The Heinieken pint that is €7.50 in the lobby bar is €10.00 up there. But it is extremely popular, there was a line waiting to go up every evening in the lobby. Guests do get a priority sticker that allows them to go the the front of the line. For Gold and Diamond members there is a 25% discount in the lobby bar and restaurant, but not in the Skylounge. When I mentioned it, there was no fuss and it was credited. Unfortunately there was currently no outside seating for the lobby bar. There are umbrellas out there but no tables. When I asked the bartender about it, the reply was that they did not currently have enough staff to serve it.
