Absolute favorite so far was the Union Station Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. Even during the COVID restrictions where breakfast was “grab and go pastries and juice” I didn’t care much since I was only gold at the time. The rest of the hotel made up for it since it just immerses you in the atmospheric feel, not only the rooms and hallways but the checkin area and lobby. Point of comparison: I stayed at the Union Station Hotel in St Louis, Missouri on the same trip which was a Curio- it felt like a hotel where the rooms were stuck onto the train station. Restaurant, checkin area, lobby were excellent and well-integrated into the train station but rooms felt like standard cookie-cutter rooms with some pictures of trains on the walls.

Other experiences where “the hotel just felt… luxurious and special/boutique” included Hotel am Steinplatz in Berlin, Germany and Grand Universe in Lucca, Italy. Hard to describe Autograph Collection- it’s like… elegant and just-enough luxury and the hotels just felt special because of their uniqueness. Next up in the Autograph Collection for me is the Circulo Gran Via in Madrid, Spain.
Good to hear - I'll be staying at Union Station in Nashville this weekend!

At this point, my favorite has been Mauna Kea - great environment, wonderful beds, and lovely architecture!
