The notes from my recent trip, during which I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Sterling, do not remind me which of the hotels it was that only provided two towels. I'll assume it was this one.
The notes do remind me that it was this hotel that offered lotion and some other product "Made exclusively for Best Western branded hotels" by Lacoupe. I'm guessing the management company also has a Best Western in its stable and is practicing cost-cutting in more ways than one.
I would have put the establishment's name and location in the thread title.
Ah… yes, probably an HI Express. I only stay in IHG rarely, mostly when there isn’t a Hilton or Marriott flagged alternative. Not because of any particular issue with IHG, just because I try not to spread my stays out too much.
I confess, I don’t actually know the difference between an HI and an HIE.
In regards to the thread title, you’re probably right. When I started the thread, I was thinking more generally about “rural budget hotels,” and the “new normal,” but maybe it really is a specific issue to this hotel.
I don’t remember the toiletries. There were wall mounted bottles in the shower, and the one little tube of shampoo that I managed to get housekeeping to give me. I do remember that there was a Best Western across the street.
