Multiple guests have now reviewed this particular hotel in the last week (across various review platforms) indicating that, in fact, the hotel was not providing soap or additional towels, even on request. There was a sign at the check-in desk making clear that there would only be two towels per room. The hand soap issue has apparently been going on for months.
So, no… I don’t expect my flyertalk thread to accomplish anything. However “calling down to the front desk” also appears to have been fruitless.
I maintain that if the hotel cannot provide at least one bath towel per guest and one bar (or bottle) of handsoap per bathroom, then they either need to reduce available inventory or send someone down to Wal*Mart.
I have alerted both Guest Relations and the VP of Guest Relations of the issue. If I were IHG, I’d expect that the franchise immediately resolves the issue or risk losing their flag.
