MMX is in the boonies for me, so I try to avoid MMX for departures and (even more so for) arrivals.
SAS would love to dump my kids if they could, especially after the Kids Fly Free promo that earned them A3 Gold all those years ago by flying C class with Dad in the back of the plane flying cheap Y. As you mentioned unaccompanied minor service fees, the service is/was free if the trip was booked with miles. I don't think we ever paid for the service from 7-12 years of age, and then they started travelling without it after they 12 years.

SAS got some money out of us on the youth tickets over the past years, but that is over now that A3 and SK have cut Youth Ticket earnings to almost 0 (which makes sense, no complaints). SAS may have thought they won the round as they wouldn't have the kids in the lounge after they finally lost their A3 Gold, but both my wife and I made Diamond this year and gifted them EBG immediately. They can still pillage the lounges, but it will be interesting to see if they get upgraded more/less by SAS now that they are EBG as they were double upgraded from Go to Business several times as A3 Gold. Now we usually book them on F&F fares or use our miles to other *A partners. They remain a problem for SAS for a few more years .

MMX is the boondocks and we only use it to status runs or to try and get vouchers. It serves the purpose well when we have time to fly the extra segments, but definitely not on holidays with my wife. She won't tolerate that, so we will be flying CPH-ORD direct IF SAS resolves the pilot strike before mid-July. Happy wife, happy life
