the problem with paper receipts is it requires a stop by the front desk. i used to always just leave the hotel because they would always close out and email everything.

now, many places offer checkout via the app which is also great.

but when i leave a hotel it is because i have a car waiting so i leave my room and .... leave. having to add in time to stop by the front desk, which depending on a variety of factors can be empty to a 15min wait is really not a benefit.
