I had a similar stay at the Fairfield Inn in Cherry Hill NJ. The bathroom was gross and moldy around the tub. Complained to the front desk, and she showed me 6 additional rooms, each one worse than the last.
Her solution was for me to stay at the other hotel across the street and pay twice the price. I said that is unacceptable, I am going to find somewhere else for my other 2 nights but I needed the room for tonight since it was already 10pm but I should not have to pay. She agreed and comped me the room for the night. Woman said she had no idea the bathroom were so bad, it was her first night. In the morning the guy at the desk said they bleach the showers everyday trying to fix the problem and are hoping to renovate soon.
I also sent pictures to Marriott stating I should be compensated since the new hotel cost me 3,000 points more I should not have to eat those points. They agreed and gave me the points back
