All of the costs are still borne by the franchisee but the franchisee now comes out ahead by getting revenue on things they would have been eating prior. Hilton also comes out ahead since they take a percentage every month of the property's gross F&B revenue. If this were such a negative arrangement it never would have been extended this far. It's still around because it works for the people it's suppose to work for until they figure out a better way to enhance it for themselves.
Indeed if this were such a negative arrangement for the property owners/operators then it never would have been extended this far. It's still around because it works for the property owners/operators at the expense of the consumers and remains as is until the property owners/operators figure out a better way to enhance it for themselves even more at the expense of the Hilton Gold and Diamond customers.

Unfortunately, even when inflation plummets and prices at the grocery stores drop by or before end of next year, it’s likely that this greedy corporate culture on the hotelier side remains as is and, with it, this Hilton F&B credit scheme remains as is or even gets worse for Hilton Golds and Diamonds.
