Let's hope Air Canada learns from this. At the very least an a apology from AC management and a personal apology from the captain, along with some substantial compensation.
Also this is a learning opportunity for police. They should only remove passengers if they are convinced they need to be removed. If not, police should just walk away and let the crew remove the passengers. Police work for taxpayers, not flight crews.
Even more, if after investigation it can't be proven who was not complying or worse it was a w&b issue than whoever got the police involved should face criminal prosecution for misuse of police service.
Shame on the Captain for even letting this get this far!... no matter how well he knew the crew in the back!
