Stay Report - 6/22 to 6/24
Location: Absolutely perfect. A block north of the Arno River in the heart of the old city. Easily walkable to every single Florence activity you could possibly want to visit. Approximately 1,000 restaurants nearby for dining. I could not have picked a better place to stay in Florence. It's also a mere 20 minutes to FLR.
Hotel: Not much to look at from the outside. It's in a nondescript building like most in this city next to a Burberry Store Inside it's very pretty though. The common areas are all gorgeous. Do note there's no lobby per se. Just a small check in desk near the elevators. There's also a small restaurant and bar. While the elevators are small in a European way I never had to wait for one.
Check In: From the beginning service was flawless. The hotel really, really cared I was Globalist and it meant a lot. We arrived at 12:30 PM and were told our room would take only a few minutes. We were invited to have a drink in the bar while we waited and were told we were upgraded.
Room: The check in agent called it a suite (it wasn't) but it was a really nice large room especially for Europe. Everything about it screamed luxury. There were two huge beds, a large TV, the technology all worked great and the bathroom was gorgeous with two very large showers. My only complaint if you can call it that is there was no bar soap, just liquid hand soap and liquid bath gel. We also got a nice welcome amenity of fruit the first day and croissants the second day.
Dining: The bar was nice with a selection of cocktails and local beers. Breakfast was an okay not great buffet with just three hot options (scrambled eggs, potatoes and bacon) plus cold cuts, cereal, yogurt and fruit.
Overall a great experience and absolutely perfect for Florence. I really loved it.
