The hotel itself is really nice. The room setups are nice, too. The beds are small for double beds.
When we got to our room, we noticed that there were crumbs on the carpet in various spots so definitely no vacuuming.
The $25 Globalist credit is per room total. Not great if you’re staying with a family, at least in comparison to a club. I used mine last night to buy two overpriced glasses of wine that were not great.
When I checked in, I had to explain to the check-in desk that I was a Globalist staying on an award stay and parking was free, after he told me neither was. That was annoying.
Also, I had to go back down later to get our complimentary bottles of water since nothing was in our room. Compare that to the Hyatt Regency Lexington where we stayed last weekend, they handed me a bag at check-in with bottles of water and snacks for the whole family.
This morning, I went down to the Onyx bar to get a coffee, which again would have been included if the club was open. I asked the lady when they expected the club to reopen because that’s important to travelers like me. Get this: she expects it to be closed for “quite a while” because they are currently reserving the club for Delta employee guests and they do not expect that to change. I did notice a ton of Delta employees staying here, presumably due to ATL being their HQ. That’s absolute garbage though that they would displace their own loyalists for a corporate contract like that.
im about to hopefully go down and get breakfast without there being an issue, but no guarantees…
Honestly, there is no reason to stay here over staying at the Hyatt Place down the street, unless you’re hosting an event or part of a corporate group.
Your perception of this over the HP is wildly off-base. This hotel is exceedingly generous in providing a credit on top of breakfast, which far exceeds brand standards. Many Hyatt properties have been moving away from clubs on both the GH and HR levels, but if you think what the GH is offering is the same as a HP, I would strongly disagree.
