Thanks. UA's website doesn't have any LX exception to the rule that D on all *A airlines is an upgradeable class, so I'd assume D works too. Do you happen to know the earliest LX would release any inventory? Looking at ZRH-SIN in November/December, there are some flights with as much as A4, but all that is moot if upgrade inventory is held back until much closer to departure.
