I’m aware there may be multiple threads about this, but I am hopeful that you can off Me some assistance or advice..

with the now impending BA strikes I’m looking to rearrange my Edinburgh to Seattle flight and well it’s giving me two options, or three.

1: 0640 EDI - LHR (1h5m connection) 0930 LHR - SEA

2: Any flight from Edinburgh to Heathrow and the 3:30/3:15 flight to seattle (example Edinburgh to Heathrow at 9:00 or 10am).

3: Fly the night before and stay in a local hotel, (same booking for all) and fly at 0940am then next morning.

I read somewhere that BA staff may be there to meet you if you have a tight connection or what not or that it may be possible with this connection to self serve, however im not sure as never connected at same terminal.

As I shouldn’t need to re-clear security having done so in Edinburgh, I would hope it would be easy to do with enough time, but don’t we need to be at gate with around 30mins or 40mins before departure, this makes me feel it may not be possible with the short 1h connection.

i feel it may be better to do the night before and go the next morning (option3) even though I will have to pay for hotel. I assume we can collect bags for the overnight.?

if anyone has had this similar time, for a UK TO USA flight how did it work for you?
