Absolutely! All airlines should do this in all classes and I appreciate there are last minute bookings that would not get their first choice, despite paying probably a lot for their ticket! Also op changes would add to the mix. But can you imagine how much quicker the service would be if they went down the list and gave out their meals. Just make sure you don't change seats!

Re ordering via the screen - I wonder how much of it is generational? I've seen in food outlets where you have a choice of using a screen or ordering at a counter. Those comfortable with tech use the screens and those not go to the counter. I've felt a bit silly using the screens when there was no one ordering at the counter, but equally annoyed when standing at the empty counter and the staff chat amongst themselves! Not so relevant on a plane, but choice is good.
