None of this is costing Hilton more of anything. The overwhelming majority of these transactions are done at franchised locations which are companies totally separate from Hilton. Why would Hilton or the properties hate this? Hilton concocted this arrangement to appease them and to pad their own bottom line. All of the costs are still borne by the franchisee but the franchisee now comes out ahead by getting revenue on things they would have been eating prior. Hilton also comes out ahead since they take a percentage every month of the property's gross F&B revenue. If this were such a negative arrangement it never would have been extended this far. It's still around because it works for the people it's suppose to work for until they figure out a better way to enhance it for themselves.
